All Star Car Rentals Terms and Conditions

Welcome to All Star Car Rentals! Please carefully review the following Terms and Conditions, which govern the rental of vehicles from All Star Car Rentals. By renting a vehicle from us, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions.

1. Rental Agreement

1.1. Eligibility:
Renters must be at least 22 years of age and hold a valid driver’s license for at least one year.

1.2. Documentation:
All renters must provide a valid driver’s license in the renter’s name.

1.3. Payment Method:
You are responsible for providing All Star Car Rentals with a valid credit card for all rental fees. All charges must be paid using a valid credit card. Cash and debit cards are not accepted for the initial rental deposit.

1.4. Rental Duration:
Rentals are calculated on a 24-hour basis. Late returns may incur additional fees. If a vehicle is returned more than 2 hours past the agreed return time, a full additional day’s rental charge will apply.

1.5. Fuel Policy:
Vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned full. A refueling charge will apply if the vehicle is returned with less than a full tank. If you receive a vehicle without a full tank of gas, you may return the vehicle at the same level you’ve received it on.

1.6. Driver Restrictions:
Only drivers listed in the rental agreement are authorized to operate the rental vehicle. Unauthorized drivers will void any insurance coverage and the renter will be fully liable for any damages or accidents.

2. Damage Waivers

All Star Car Rentals offers two waiver options for your rental vehicle. Please note that the waiver coverage provided by the company may not cover all risks, and we advise all renters to read the terms carefully.

2.1. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)

2.1.1. Description:
CDW reduces the renter’s financial responsibility for damage to the rental vehicle. CDW is not insurance but an agreement between the renter and All Star Car Rentals to limit liability in case of an accident or damage.

If CDW is declined, you will be responsible up to the full replacement value of the rental vehicle.

If you choose to rely on your credit card for coverage, we strongly recommend that you fully understand the terms and conditions of any coverage provided by your credit card company before you decline any of our optional services.

2.1.2. Exclusions:
CDW does not cover damage caused by reckless driving, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, off-road driving, or violations of traffic laws. Damage to tires, wheels, windows, and the interior of the vehicle is also excluded unless specifically stated otherwise.

2.2. Third-Party Liability (TPL)

2.2.1. Description:
Third-Party Liability provides coverage for bodily injury or property damage caused to others (third parties) in an accident for which the renter is legally responsible. This coverage is not included in the rental rate and can be purchased at your time of booking or on arrival.

2.2.2. Coverage Limit:
Coverage does not extend to damages or injury to the renter or any authorized drivers, nor to the rental vehicle itself.

2.2.3. Exclusions:
TPL does not cover incidents arising from unauthorized drivers, illegal activities, reckless driving, or driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

3. Accidents, Theft, and Damage

3.1. Accident Reporting:
In the event of an accident, the renter must notify All Star Car Rentals immediately and provide a detailed report, including a police report where applicable. Failure to report an accident may void any insurance coverage and make the renter fully liable for all damages.

3.2. Theft:
In the event the rental vehicle is stolen, the renter must notify All Star Car Rentals and file a police report within 24 hours. The renter will remain liable for the vehicle until the report is filed and accepted by local authorities. Once the investigation is completed by local authorities, it will determine whether the renter is held liable. If the renter is deemed liable, they will be responsible for reimbursing All Star Car Rentals for the full market value of the vehicle.

3.3. Damage:
Any damage to the vehicle, regardless of fault, must be reported to All Star Car Rentals. The renter may be held liable for the repair costs up.

4. Prohibited Uses

The renter agrees not to use the rental vehicle for the following purposes:

Off-road driving.

7.2. No-Show:

However, if you are arriving by airplane and have provided All Star Car Rentals with flight details, the reservation will be held until two hours after the flight has landed and cleared. If your flight is delayed and doesn’t land on its designated day, you will not be charged a no show fee and your reservation will continue to be reserved subject to you reaching out to us.

8. Insurance Information

Before renting a vehicle, it’s a good idea to review your personal car insurance and/or credit card policy thoroughly for the specific terms and conditions associated with rental vehicles. In some cases, the coverage on your own car or credit card may extend to a rental vehicle. However, in certain situations, the rental company’s extra coverage might be beneficial. This makes it important to know what your car or credit card insurance covers and what the rental agency offers.

8.1. Understand the Rental Car Waiver Options:

Rental car agencies in Grand Cayman typically offer two main types of additional vehicle coverage:

8.1.1. Third Party Liability Coverage:
This coverage helps protect you if you injure someone or damage their property while driving. If your personal auto insurance policy includes sufficient liability coverage, you may not need to purchase extra protection from the rental agency. However, most personal auto insurance policies from the United States will not cover you outside of a U.S. territory. In addition, credit cards do not provide liability coverage.

8.1.2. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW):
This waiver isn’t considered insurance, but it can help cover the cost of repairs if the rental car is damaged, excluding certain damages i.e damage caused by speeding and driving on unpaved roads. Some credit cards offer CDW coverage if you use the card to pay for the rental. When traveling internationally, credit cards may reimburse you for rental car damages, but you’ll need to file a claim and pay for repairs upfront. In some cases, the damage costs could exceed your credit card’s limit, so it’s essential to ensure your card has enough available credit to cover potential losses.

8.2. What is your responsibility?

When you rent a car from All Star Car Rentals, you are responsible for any and all loss or damage to the car resulting from any cause (including but not limited to, collision, rollover, theft, vandalism, seizure, fire, flood or other acts of nature regardless of fault).

In the event of any loss or damage to the car regardless of fault, your financial responsibility extends to the full value of the car at the time of rental, less its salvage value, plus expenses for towing, storage impound fees, an administrative fee and a reasonable charge for loss of use.

8.3. What protection does All Star Car Rentals CDW offer?

By accepting CDW (Collision Damage Waiver), you will be relieved of all financial responsibility for loss or damage to the rental car. In order for CDW to be applied to any damage claims, you must properly report the related incident in accordance with the rental agreement and these terms and conditions. CDW is available while booking your reservation for USD$17.95 – $21.95 per day depending on vehicle category.

8.4. Do I need Third Party Liability?

Where permitted by law, no liability protection is provided under the terms of the rental agreement from claims of injury by others against you resulting from an accident with the rental car. Most car rentals in the United States provide some primary protection under the rental agreement. However, in those situations where protection is provided by a rental car agency, such protection is generally limited to what is required by the laws of such state. For these reasons, some people feel more comfortable traveling with additional liability protection.

8.5. What protection does All Star Car Rentals TPL offer?

By accepting TPL (Third Party Liability), you will be provided coverage for you and other authorized operators of your rental vehicle for third party liability claims. TPL is available while booking you reservation for USD$10.00 per day for all vehicle categories.

9. Modifications to Rental Agreement

All Star Car Rentals reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated to renters and will be effective for all new rentals.

10. Governing Law

These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of the Cayman Islands. Any disputes arising under this agreement shall be settled in the courts of the Cayman Islands.
